“Quiet Quitting” is a terminology that is not too strange to the working community in general and the GenZ generation in particular. Therefore, what is Quite Quitting? Let’s find out with HANA Asia below!

The phrase “Quiet Quitting” is understood as “Working in moderation”, this seems to quit in silence when employees fall into a state of depression, don’t want to connect with colleagues or participate in company activities and only do assigned tasks that they have been paid.

In reality, Quiet Quitting is an alarming reality because the line between “enough working” or “moderate working” is very fragile. There is no discussion if employees limit their work but still ensure the progress and quality of work. However, employees who work in a state of Quiet Quitting will often have an unhappy, dissatisfied and sometimes negative mood. Therefore, limiting work according to the Quiet Quitting trend will reduce the productivity of employees.

There are many reasons for “Quiet Quitting” such as work-life balance demand, high work pressure but less happiness, loss of motivation at work leading to disconnection or not being able to work in an undesired environment. What can we do to avoid falling into a state of Quiet Quitting?

Discuss directly with the manager: If you feel at an alarming level with your work, don’t hesitate to talk to your superiors. Communicating directly and straightforwardly to find solutions will help you quickly and promptly resolve the difficult problems that you are facing.

Consider salary and bonus structure: Salary and bonus structure is also one of the big reasons why workers feel dissatisfied with their jobs. If you are in this situation, take a look at yourself to know what you have and have not done for your business. Since then, there has been a basis for you to express your desires and the benefits you wish to.

Learn to say “no” to unimportant things: Don’t always embrace many things at once to show that you are enthusiastic and responsible for your work. You should proactively choose work items to do through priority level and tactfully refuse tasks that don’t bring any specific benefits instead of refusing all work that is not yours.

Consider the suitable level of your current job: If you often feel tired and depressed when thinking about your current job, it may be a sign that the job you are doing is not really suitable for you. Let’s think about a job transfer, it may help you find joy in work again.
